A wood heating is getting more and more popular as gas and electricity are getting more and more expensive. Coal is going to get very expensive soon and it is also very non-ecological kind of fuel; the wood represents another possibility. A wood cutting with a circular saw with a cradle or with a chain saw is an existing practice, but what about the splitting? It will certainly pay off to get a good axe.

However, an axe is not a sufficient tool for regular firewood preparation and that’s where the electro hydraulic log splitters do their invaluable job. They’re becoming very popular and that’s why VARI included them into the product range too. We offer horizontal as well as vertical versions. The log splitters consist of a robust frame, an electromotor, a pump, a piston, a splitting wedge and control elements ensuring maximum safety of the operation.

The maximum safety is a very important factor for both log splitter types. It is necessary to hold the control levers on the machine side with both hands when you put the log in the horizontal log splitter. This will avoid any hand injury in the splitting area. The vertical log splitter is equipped with clamping arms. You set the log between them and thus a possible fly out of split particles is avoided. The splitting wedge is put in motion by pushing handles on both arms down. It is a matter of course that if one of the buttons is released, the splitting wedge immediately goes back in the start position. This is a common feature of both log splitters.
