The new VARI XP-200 engine is an air-cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder OHV engine. It is a very good, reliable and powerful engine thanks to its displacement of 196 ccm, the torque of 10 Nm and most of all thanks to the cast-iron insert in the cylinder. Low consumption of about 0,8 l/h, low emissions (meeting Euro2), affordable spare parts and most of all easy starting. These are the attributes of the new VARI XP-200 engine.
The engine was introduced in the serial production of VARI machines in the season of 2014 when it was used for the Agatha drum mower and the VARI driving unit. Running in real conditions and first of all the positive feedback from our customers, technicians and salesmen assured us of making a good choice. In the first year we put 1500 pcs on the Czech market, which is a great result.
In the season of 2015 we are going to continue popularizing this engine, for example on the new CB-80Z sweeping brush. We have also prepared a campaign for owners of TERRA/VARI System in the Czech Republic. If they return their old engine from a VARI minitractor, they can buy the new PJXP200 driving unit for a supported price. We want to reduce the bad ecological and emission impact of the old, smoking two-stroke engines by replacing them with new modern engines meeting the Euro2 standard; we also want to make using the old VARI machines more comfortable thanks to easy starting, lower fuel consumption and lower noise of the new engine.
We don't hide the country of origin. You can trust us that we were choosing from the really best producers long time and very carefully. We have chosen the Zongshen company from Chongqing which belongs among the three biggest combustion engine and motorcycle producers in China. Their professional approach, responsibility at developing, top level technical equipment and observance of world standards at development and production guarantee the quality and reliability of their products.
It was a long way to introduce the new engine for VARI machines. For three years we have been carefully adjusting and testing it in all possible situations. Together with the manufacturer's technicians we optimized it for the specific use on the VARI machines. It was particularly important to optimize the engine for the VARI driving units with the centrifugal clutch. The requirements of stable running under 1700 rpm and especially linear pulling up to the maximum of 3600 rpm requested many special amendments on the carburettor, governor and some mechanical components of the engine. It is very important to achieve still engine running in the whole range of the revolutions thanks to balancing the crankshaft of each engine.
Be sure that when we decided to install a new engine on our machines, we didn't follow the general rule - take a Chinese serial lawnmower engine, install it on your tested base and you get an affordable machine with successful sales. Introducing the VARI XP-200 engine means for us a big responsibility to all the VARI customers now as well as in future. It is an engine which we want to use for many years and we are preparing more modifications as well.
