In addition to the fact that the ideal cutting disc is double, pressed, profiled and has reinforced edges, it needs to have an undercarriage of the same diameter as the upper cutting disc. This ensures that the drum mower follows uneven terrain well and there is a minimum of impacts to the ground. This design also protects the screws with which the blades are attached. A mowed area can hide a number of traps, such as molehills, stones, tree stumps or invasive plants. That is why it the bracing of the cutting blades in the disc is also very important.
The VARI drum mowers went through development and many innovations since 1997, including the bracing of the cutting blades. The VARI drum mowers always have a double cutting disc - pressed, profiled and with reinforced edges. The four cutting blades are swivelly attached to the disc, and the screw and nut are embedded in the disc. In addition, there is a unique feature of the mowing disc since 2013, which is called T-BAR. It is a precise T-shaped casting that is welded to the edge of the cutting disc and the blade is braced in it. This trifle, which is not visible at first sight, significantly increases the circumferential toughness of the cutting disc and above all increases it toughness and safety of the blade storage. The optimized weight and shape are the result of computer and dynamic simulations and above all hundreds of hours of testing. All VARI discs are pressed, welded and painted in our manufacturing company in Libice nad Cidlinou. The cast T-BAR elements are produced in the specialized IEG foundry in Jihlava.
Our final recommendation: Before mowing, always walk through the grounds, remove obstacles, and only then start working. Then the original cutting disc with T-BAR blade bracing will serve you for the entire lifetime of the drum mower. This also sets the VARI drum mowers apart from all competitive products.
